Human State

Applied human factors science & engineering

The measured state of a human, whether the state incorporates aspects related to physiology, cognition, or behavior, is an integral part of the systems that we develop. Sometimes the work we do has been described as “human factors science and engineering” or “human systems”. Similarly, the terms “human-computer interface” and “human-machine interaction” have been applied to our work. All these terms are applicable when some aspect of the human is measured in a system and utilized to define how that system operates.
